GifDeck uses SlideShare's API to retrieve all of a presentation's slides and assemble them together into an animated GIF's content.
Each of the presentation's slide is added as a layer in the GIF, which is then played back to users using an automated switch animation.
When converting the SlideShare presentation, developers can adjust some of the GIF's options:
- The time each GIF layer is visible (in milliseconds)
- The number of panels to retrieve from each presentation
- The size of the outputted GIF (small, medium, large)
The outputted GIF images are much smaller and can then be shared easier with friends, even if they don't have the controls a SlideShare presentation has.
